three mermaids

jaime with birds

By the time this picture was taken Jaime was twenty and had grown into a beautiful young woman.  She loved our "big red truck" and had a big smile on her face whenever she got to be behind the wheel.

Jack was the love of Jaime's life.  They were both so young when this was taken, barely out of their teens, but Jaime was already wiser and more thoughtful than her years. she loved Jack and they were always great friends...spending hours together solving life's mysteries, walking, and just playing games.

Lou took this shot of Jaime on the beach at St. George Island.  She looks perfect, with the wind blowing her hair and dress and the water behind her.  It's a great shot of a great woman. You can download a bigger version of it, suitable for Window's wallpaper, by clicking the picture.

By the time she had grown to be a young woman, Jaime's best friend was her Mom. she always called her Lou, except for occassionaly, when she was really tired and a "Mommy" would slip out. They played and danced and sang together and were like two soul mates...when they were together it was almost impossible to join in the conversation or the game...they were so close. I don't know who was the lucky one, I guess they were both lucky. Jaime was lucky to have such a wonderful, understanding, devoted Mother and Lou was lucky to have such a beautiful, wise, thoughtful and loving daughter. They were both fortunate to have such a wonderful friend as each other. "Go now and fly free in the frowning face of convention" is the quote that Lou had pasted on this page from a scrapbook she was making for Jaime...and that is just what Jaime did and continues to do. We miss her and will always miss her but we love her and will also always love her. She is free...she is unconventional...she is our sweet child, Jaime Arin Stefanko.
